Ice Cream Bon Bons

Ice cream bon bons

Combine your favourite chocolate with a yummy mango ice cream to create these amazing looking ice cream bon bons. This is a flexible recipe: you can easily change the mangoes to your favourite in-season fruit if they aren’t readily available.

We used a dome mould but you can use a muffin tray. Add some cling wrap before pouring in the chocolate so that it’s easy to remove them from the pans.

Ingredients

  • 2 large mangoes
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1 can condensed milk (395g)
  • 3/4 cup cream
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 200g white chocolate

Instructions

Step 1: Make the mango ice cream

Slice up the mangoes

Chop up the mangoes and banana.

Add fruit to a blender.

Add the can of condensed milk.

Add the cream.

Blend until well combined then add to fridge until you’re ready to use.

Step 2: Make the chocolate top

Melt chocolate in a bain marie.

Pour a small amount into each mould. About 1/4 of the mould.

Ensure the chocolate is level.

Freeze for an hour.

Step 3: Add ice cream to mould

Spoon in ice cream custard until the dome is almost full.

Freeze for 3 hours until hard.

Step 4: Add final layer of chocolate

Spoon in melted chocolate of your choice. In this example, we used white chocolate.

Smooth out chocolate as best you can.
